A loving seven-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Santa Clarita, CA, whose es‐ sence is a warm burst of devotion wrapped in a beautiful brown coat with white accents.
At 55 pounds, Lena is the kind of companion who believes life is simply better when shared with her favorite people\! She adores cozy movie nights, long walks through the neighborhood, sunny after‐ noons stretched out soaking up the warmth, and energetic adventures hunting lizards in the yard. When the day winds down, her favorite place is right beside the people she trusts, offering all the af‐ fection and companionship her big heart can hold.
Lena is a smart girl who has completed formal obedience training and proudly knows commands such as sit, stay, leave it, down, free, and here/touch. She is house-trained, crate-trained, microchipped,
spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. She also takes a daily allergy medication and handles short periods alone without difficulty.
One of Lena’s most endearing qualities is the contrast between her playful energy and her cuddly na‐ ture. She can happily chase a ball, carry around a beloved stuffed toy, or enjoy a favorite bone, then transform into an oversized lap dog who wants nothing more than to relax with her people\! Family friends who earn her trust quickly discover just how affectionate and loyal she can be.
Lena does have important behavioral needs that her future family should understand. She has a long history of resource guarding around food, treats, toys, and other high-value items, as well as multiple serious conflicts with other dogs. Her caregivers have worked extensively to support her through pro‐ fessional training, behavior management strategies, structured routines, and careful supervision. Because of her history, she needs an adult-only home with experienced pet parents who understand resource guarding, dog reactivity, and the importance of maintaining consistent boundaries and rou‐ tines. Lena must be the only pet in the household, allowing her to relax without the stress of sharing space or valued resources with other animals. She can be cautious with some unfamiliar people and may take time to build trust. Her future family should be committed to continuing the thoughtful man‐ agement and positive reinforcement practices that help her feel secure and safe.
For the right family, Lena offers unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and a deeply rewarding bond. She is looking for a caring environment where she can be the center of attention and enjoy her next chapter with people who appreciate everything that makes her special.
Could Lena be the one loyal companion you’ve been hoping to welcome into your family?
